Exposed is a Barcelona based design studio, which conceives and produces innovative designs. Our international award winning design team offers a highly skilled quality service. With an aim to deliver only the highest quality we are proud to announce our collaborations:

Caparo a fast growing group with a 1bn Euro turnover with business interests in the manufacture of steel, automotive and general engineering products. A member of the Caparo group, Studio Caparo is a design and prototyping business specialising in the manufacture and installation of bespoke one-off limited edition and batch produced pieces of furniture.

History

Barcelona 2005 saw the birth of Exposed. Founder Brian Duffy's vision came from a desire to promote a previously unknown set of talented international furniture designers in Barcelona. This became the driving force for the creation of Exposed and its collection of designer furniture. Due to the company values, the team will continue to promote young unknown designers.

PODz

PODz (Points Of Distribution)
are an innovative answer to the problem of turning dead space in commercial locations, utilising retail and marketing spaces both indoors and outdoors. Unlike traditional kiosks, their highly flexible design features mean any space can be turned into a commercial success. Having been designed by Exposed, the design is being exclusively distributed by an experienced distribution company, PODz - Retail.

 

Visionarium

The stand's external surfaces are covered with a set of continuous images with great impact, referring to the science theme.
The internal surfaces are images and illustrations inspired by the natural science graphics, looking for a sober and quiet inner space where the activities will take place.

 

Independents boutique

Independents boutique is a concept for young fashion designers who are in need of a platform to introduce their innovative design. Exposed in collaboration with UK events company Ear To The Ground activated a space with in the Mare magnum commercial centre and had a staggering 18 months of success. Over 200 designers took part and many have gone on to greater things.

 

Product Development

Durmientes

Taken from the Spanish for 'sleep', the two-part Limited edition Durmientes sculpture invites curious hands. Made from a sleek resin that carries all the visual tenderness of glass yet none of its physical fragility, the Durmientes is a focal oasis for any room. Its colourful organic curves are there to be touched, whilst casting striking light around the room. The sensual sculpture can be pulled apart, toyed with and rearranged as you wish – the two parts are integral to the whole, but the individual decides how they interact.

 

Display rack

Born from the concept “Freetings” by Tailor Made and Madmedia, this card display rack is the result of a stylish, modern, contemporary, ergonomic and aesthetic design process. It can be used as a stand alone furniture or fixed on the wall with a dual function accessory.

Arts Hotel Barcelona

Commissioned by Six Senses to review facilities at the prestigious Arts Hotel in Barcelona. Exposed managed a review that included our internal design team and appointed supporting companies in construction and engineering industries.

A full document was generated by Exposed to improve the spa design and facilities.

Medusa

Medusa Table

Medusa conceived and made in Spain is so-called because of its elegant marine namesake, meaning "jellyfish" in Spanish. Made from laser-etched Corian®, which perfectly captures the sleek of the aquatic creature, the Medusa's swooping curves and celestial light conjure images of drifting effortlessly along with the sea's currents. A flexible element of coloured light can be added, facilitating dynamic ambient luminescence and a complimentary mood change.
A winner of “The Skin of Corian” international design award organized by DuPont and DesignBoom.

Medusa Pendant

Since the worldwide sucess of the Medusa Table lamp, our team have worked to bring the next design in this lighting collection - “Medusa Pendant”. The Pendant is a natural progression for this collection and compliments the design beautifully. Having maintained the design of the original Medusa with this truly unique form, the pendant will serve to be a highly regarded lighting design.

Basking sofa

Imagine falling back into a bubble – passing through the delicate meniscus into the cushioned curves of the droplet

It is a seamless hand-cast three-piece mould in fibreglass that caused great excitement at London Design Week '05 and was a cover-star of Blueprint magazine featuring an exclusively designed Timorous Beasties cushion. Already as at home in a warehouse space as it is in a penthouse. This year sees the addition of the Basking footstool to complete the lounging experience and a collection of tactile coverings.

Vinet Prototype

The drinks cabinet has been stuck in a 1970s time wrap for too long. No longer is it the preserve of drinkers of saccharine sweet liqueurs, it has finally come of age. The vinet is a drinks cabinet for grown ups, created for style-conscious 'mover and shaker' who appreciates a modern design classic in the making.

The Vinet's look is one of understand sophistication: a modular structure made from Corian(R), once it is opened up it is capable of catering for any social gathering. From entertaning a couple of close friends over a cold Scotch and ice, to keeping a whole party supplied with wine, the Vinet can hold ten bottles of wine, eight bottles of sprits and a selection of glasses in the spine and doors.

There is even a Corian(R) ice bucket cavity for stoing ice and up to four bottles of champagne in the Vinet's base, so when the night is over and it's time for bed, the Vinet smoothly folds away into an ergonomic ellipsis, immaculate until the sound of ice clinking in crystal glasses returns again.
